One of the things people fail to realize with their cars is maintenance.They do not realize the impact of this simple task on their saving a lot of money.  But not only save them money but also save them time.  Because bringing a car in for maintenance takes a lot less time then when it is in for a repair.So what can one do to avoid shelling extra money on auto repairs?

Well, tuning up your car regularly is the first thing that you can do. It is a simple maintenance procedure.But it is a procedure that will lengthen the longevity of your car.  In my San Marcos auto repair shop I always encourage my clients to bring their car in for tune ups.  It isn’t so I can make more money.  But it is so they can save money. 

Another thing I always tell and encourage car owners is that they change the oils of their cars regularly. This simple procedure will go a long way.  It will help their engine run smooth and last longer.  Think of the oil as your car’s blood.It won’t survive just like a person that is losing a lot of blood.A car with low oil levels can damage its engine severely.  I have seen it too many times where customers brought in a burnt out engine into my Carlsbad auto repair shop.And it was all due to low oil levels.  So be smart and change your oil regularly.

Lastly, I also tell my clients to always check their transmission.Just like the engine, the transmission is one part of the car that can also cost you a lot of money when replacing it.But making it last is an easy thing to do. You just need to take care of it regularly.In my transmission repair shop, I always remind my clients that they should always check their ttransmission fluids.Neglecting the level of it and make it go so low will ruin your transmission.

So there you have it.  If you perform these few things you can avoid costly repairs.  Plus your car will last longer.
